Sunday 15th August 2021 - Stanky Hill

Stanky Hill, B grade, 13 miles, 2000 feet of ascent.

Meet at Abbey at 8.30 am. Start point Llanbister, SO 109 733.

There are very limited parking facilities and so I would encourage car sharing.

Llanbister is just to the east of the A483 some 12 miles south of Newtown. Coming south on the A483, a little before the turning for Llanbister, toilets are signed in a lay by on the left of the road.

The walk passes through rolling country with considerable moorland and subject to weather, good views.

The going is mostly easy underfoot and is rated a B grade merely due to it exceeding 12 miles.

From Llanbister we head for Llwyn, Crossways, Stanky Hill, Warren Hill, and Moelfre Hill and thence to the farmstead of Little Moelfre from where we head back to Llanbister.
