Details for Llanarmon
Dyffryn Ceiriog - Glyn Ceiriog walk.
25/9/22
Distance: 13.75 miles
with a total of 2310’ of ascent.
Meet at the Abbey at
09.00. Walk start:
10:00
Distance to start: 29
miles. Journey time: 55 minutes
Toilet
facilities are available in Glyn Ceiriog, which we will drive past on
our way
to the start and walk past about half way around the walk.
This
circular walk uses very quiet roads, tracks, bridle paths, sections of
the
Upper Ceiriog Way, footpaths and old Tramways, to explore both the high
and low
parts of the River Ceiriog valley,
between Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and Glyn Ceiriog.
It provides
plenty of opportunity to go up and down hills, with one climb of 691’
and
another of 629’ but they are long pulls, easily negotiated.
The reward
for all your effort will be some wonderful views. Those of you who
walked the
Llansilin route that I led at the end of January, had a sneak preview,
as that
walk and this, share a short stretch, as advertised during the walk.
The 2
walks explore a similar type of countryside.
