This circular walk will see us go underneath both the Chirk Aquaduct and Viaduct, before going into the grounds of Chirk Castle, for a close look at the Castle. Continuing through the grounds, we will join the Offa’s Dyke Path, to take us to the Llangollen Canal.

We will use the tow path to take us to the Trevor canal basin, via the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Here we will descend to the River Dee, below the Aquaduct and take a path along the river to the Ty Mawr Country Park, from where we will cross the railway, close to the end of the nearby railway viaduct.

Next, we head back to the Llangollen Canal, for a tow path walk to Chirk Aquaduct. This will include going through two long tunnels.

Having had the opportunity to admire both the top of both the Chirk Aquaduct and railway viaduct, we will make our way back to the starting point of the walk.

The walk offers plenty of interest along its route, which I hope will more than compensate for the lack of challenging hills to be negotiated.
