Meet
at the Abbey at 8.30, or advise if you intend going directly to the
walk start.
Journey time: 45 mins Distance to start: 25 miles
Walk start: Approx. 09.20
Toilet facilities are available very near the Wynnstay Inn but there
are none available during the course of the walk.
This circular
walk will initially see us head in a northerly direction, to Pen-y
–gwely
Reservoir, on the Llwyber Ceiriog Trail, which we follow until the
Trail takes
a turn to the NE. There, we continue a track that takes us to The Upper
Ceiriog
Trail, which we will use to take us SW, until taking a left hand turn
to Fron
and then the most direct route back to
the start.
The route
is reasonably demanding, being hilly. It includes, for instance a climb
of 555’
but you will be rewarded with some excellent views. It is based, in the
main,
on official trails, bridleways, roads and other well defined pathways.
