Sunday 18th November 2018 - Hope Valley

Starting from the Hope Valley Nature Reserve on the A488, the route follows footpaths up through the woods and across fields to The Stables Inn at Hopesgate then through similar terrain to the top of Bromlow Callow.  The top of Stapeley Hill is the next destination which is reached via Gorstybank and adjoining open access land.  After a southerly descent, the route then heads north east towards Shelve Hill, Shelfield, Buxton Hill, Buxton Wood and Hogstow back to the car park.  A good number of the paths are little known (to us anyway!) which will take you across fields that are easy under foot, along tracks and through woods.  There's very little tarmac!  Total distance 11.5 miles with almost 2,000 feet of ascent.  With half decent weather there'll be some great views.
