26th January 2020 - Loggerheads
route follows the Shropshire, Staffordshire border south from
Loggerheads through this complex of quiet hills,
woodlands and pools which are the geological tail of the Pennine chain.
Once part of the Great Forest of Blore which extended over several
thousand acres, this area of high ground drains west into the Tern then
to the Severn and east into the Sow and on to the Trent. On reaching
Croxton the route heads back north to Ashley and the start. The recce
of the route surprised us, it's a tranquil, scenic area with views over
both Shropshire and west Staffordshire, a forgotten corner of England.
