Sunday 8th March 2020 - Knighton

Walk distance: 13 miles, with a total of 2740’ of ascent.

This is a hilly route which provides some stunning scenery. It will get the blood pumping in short bursts, such as going up Panpunton Hill (the one up to the high ground, not far from Knighton), but most of it is fairly easy, but never dull, walking.

The circular walk will see us head north, along a 4.5 mile section of Offa’s Dyke, before descending to Knucklas, where we will tackle Castle Hill, to enjoy the fine views, including looking along the top of the viaduct. From there we will ascend Bailey Hill, for Glyndwr’s Way, which will take us back to the start.

Distance to start: 35 miles. Journey time: 58 minutes

Meet at the Abbey at 08.30; Walk start: 09.35’ish.
