24th April 2016 - Dyfi Hills
includes the 2 summits of Maesglase, the highest of the
Dovey Hills, Craig Portas, Cribin Fawr and Cribin Fach.
The circular route starts from a layby on the A470 Dinas Mawddwy to
Dolgellau road (SH 826163), and initially follows footpaths East
through fields and lanes along Cwm Cerist, parallel with the A470. Then
a SSW direction is taken up the Maesglase valley with views of Cwm
Maesglase and its waterfall. Craig Maesglase is followed in a NW
direction with a crossing of the infant Nant Maesglase just above
the waterfall. Maesglase first top is reached and then follows
its second top and the other hills mentioned above. A fairly
steep descent is made from Cribin Fawr to the A470 and the final
kilometre is along the verges of the road back to the layby start.
