Carol Easthope will be leading a circular walk on the Long Mynd on Sunday 20 June. Details as follows:

Parking: Free parking at the Co-op supermarket on Easthope Road. Other free parking is available around the town.

Meet: 9 am at base of Rectory Field opposite the church SO 452 937 

Route:  10 - 11 miles with over 2,000ft of accumulative ascent. On occasions there are narrow paths and some steeply ups and steeply downs. From Rectory Field over to Carding Mill Valley and around to the Reservoir valley. Ascend to Cow Ridge before heading southwards across open moorland to reach Narnells Rock. From there it’s up to Cross Dyke before descending to walk down to the Callow Hollow and out through The Wern. Reaching Minton Lane it’s a quiet road walk to Little Stretton. The return route goes through Small Batch, past Ashes and on up Ashes Hollow before turning to ascend by Long Synalds to the topline that leads to Bylet and Ashlet and the descent through Rectory Field.

Please keep an eye on your inboxes in case of any last minute alterations due to inclement weather, flooding, a change in Covid restrictions, etc. Whilst the club is not organising car sharing until Sunday 4 July - and that is subject to Government confirmation that all restrictions are eased on 21 June - members are free in the meantime to make their own arrangements to share lifts to a walk start point if they wish
